Join us aboard Pressure Drop for a quick 300 NM run from Grenada to Antigua, designed for sailors looking to build miles and experience real Caribbean passagemaking without committing to a longer offshore trip.
This route gives us a great mix of daytime sailing and an overnight at sea, with the northeast trade winds shaping how we work our way north through the Lesser Antilles. January sits firmly in the Caribbean trade-wind season, when easterly and northeasterly is common.

This is a focused sailing trip. You’ll experience the transition from coastal departure to life offshore, including watchstanding, night sailing, helming, sail trim, navigation and weather decisions along the way. With an overnight built into the route, it’s a great opportunity to experience what passage life actually feels like without spending a week offshore.
It’s short, hands-on and a very practical way to add meaningful sea miles.

This passage offers a supportive introduction to offshore sailing, with training tailored to your comfort level. Topics may include:
- Passage planning & weather routing
- Sail selection & trim
- Watchkeeping & night sailing fundamentals
- Offshore safety procedures
- Navigation, AIS, and communication systems
- Anchoring and arrival planning after an offshore leg
You’ll be involved as much as you’d like, learning by doing in real conditions, without pressure.

We’ll begin in Grenada, with time to settle aboard review the boat, safety procedures, sail training, weather forecast, and prepare for the trip north.
From there, we’ll head toward Antigua, working with the trade winds. Depending on conditions, we may make a stop at one of the islands along the way, but the primary focus of this trip is the passage-making itself and building meaningful miles underway.

January is classic trade-wind season in the eastern Caribbean, with prevailing easterly to northeasterly winds. Conditions can vary, and stronger “Christmas Wind” periods are still possible in January, so we’ll use the forecast to choose the best departure timing and route.

This is a one-way trip, beginning in Grenada and finishing in Antigua.

If your schedule allows, we recommend adding one day more on either side of the passage to explore the islands.

Pricing is fully inclusive onboard, covering meals, snacks, beverages, evening sundowners, and mooring fees. Not included: transportation to/from the vessel and meals/drinks ashore.
