Details:

Sail north through the Leeward Islands aboard Tiger Lily, beginning in Guadeloupe and finishing in St. Martin.

Over the week, we’ll cover sailing miles while moving through a string of very different Caribbean islands. Depending on the weather and conditions, possible stops may include Antigua, Montserrat, Nevis, St. Kitts or St. Barths before our final arrival in St. Martin.

This is a great trip for guests who want the feel of a real passage while still having opportunities to explore ashore along the way.

• The Experience:

  This trip is about moving through the Caribbean under sail.

  Expect longer sailing legs, open-water crossings between islands and plenty of opportunities to become part of running the boat. You can take the helm, trim sails, help with navigation and weather planning, and see how each day’s conditions shape the route ahead.

  When we’re not underway, there will still be time to swim, explore ashore and enjoy the anchorages, but the sailing itself is a big part of why we love this route.

• Sail Training:

  This passage gives us plenty of time to work on the skills involved in longer coastal and offshore sailing.

  Guests can become involved with helming, sail handling and trim, navigation, weather interpretation, route planning, anchoring, boat systems and passage preparation.

  The longer crossings between islands make this a particularly good trip for anyone wanting experience beyond protected coastal sailing and mile building.

• ITINERARY:

  We’ll begin in Guadeloupe, where the first day is spent settling aboard Tiger Lily, getting familiar with the boat and reviewing the forecast and route before getting underway.

  Possible stops may include:

  • Antigua

  • Montserrat

  • Nevis or St. Kitts

  • St. Barths

  • St. Martin

  We won’t expect to visit every island on the list. Instead, we’ll use the forecast and conditions to decide where it makes sense to stop and where it makes sense to keep sailing.

• WEATHER:

  April generally brings warm temperatures and established trade-wind sailing conditions through the Leeward Islands.

  Because we’ll be crossing several open-water channels, wind strength and sea state can vary considerably from one leg to the next. We’ll plan our departures and route around the conditions.

• Travel Logistics:

  • Arrival: Guadeloupe, Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport (PTP)

  • Departure: Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM)

  If possible, plan to arrive the day before departure and book flexible return travel where possible. Boarding and disembarkation details will be shared prior to the trip.

• PRICE:

  Pricing is fully inclusive onboard, covering meals, snacks, beverages, evening sundowners, and mooring fees.

  Not included: transportation to/from the vessel and meals/drinks ashore.
