Mallorca To Cannes (7 Days)

Coastal/Offshore Sailing Experience - 350NM / 7 Days

Details:

Join us for a true Mediterranean adventure with this seven-day passage from Mallorca to Cannes, combining open-water sailing with coastal exploration. This voyage offers the best of both worlds: long days under sail across the Mediterranean Sea, followed by anchorages in some of the Med’s most stunning coastal towns. It’s a journey of movement, discovery, and life at sea ideal for sailors eager to experience a real passage while still enjoying the comfort and rhythm of cruising life aboard a Balance catamaran.

  • You’ll help plan the route, set sails, and stand watch as we make the offshore leg from Mallorca toward the French Riviera then slow the pace as we explore anchorages along the CΓ΄te d’Azur. Between sailing and exploring, enjoy shared meals on deck, sunset swims, and the camaraderie that only life offshore can create. Whether you’re here to build confidence or simply to experience the freedom of passagemaking, this trip will stay with you long after landfall.

  • Exact routing will depend on the weather, but you can expect a mix of passage sailing and coastal cruising. Highlights may include:

    • Departure from Palma, Mallorca: systems checks, provisioning, and preparation for the crossing

    • Open-water passage: sail north across the Balearic Sea, learning passage planning, watchkeeping, and weather strategy

    • Landfall on the French Riviera: celebrate with your first cafΓ© or croissant ashore

    • Îles d’HyΓ¨res or Porquerolles: swim in crystal-clear waters off this protected island chain

    • Cannes: finish the passage in style, exploring the Old Port, cafΓ©s, and lively waterfront

  • While this trip is not a formal course, it’s a perfect opportunity to experience the rhythm of offshore sailing and build real confidence at sea. You’ll take part in:

    • Passage planning and weather routing

    • Watchkeeping and night sailing

    • Sail trim and reefing for long passages

    • Navigation and route adjustments underway

    • Anchoring, mooring, and coastal entry procedures

You’ll be involved as much as you’d like, learning by doing and discovering what it takes to move between countries under sail.

  • Late August offers classic Mediterranean conditions with warm days around 82–88Β°F (28–31Β°C), light to moderate winds (10–18 knots), and mostly settled seas. Expect calm mornings, steady afternoon breezes, and warm water (78Β°F / 25Β°C) perfect for a swim after a day of sailing.
