Phoebe & Perrine
Meet the Crew On Tiger Lily
Chasing Horizons, Sharing the Way.
Every sailor has a beginning. Our crew once stood where you are now, dreaming of the sea, chasing freedom, and learning by doing. Today, they bring that journey full circle, guiding others with the same passion, patience, and sense of adventure that first inspired them.
Phoebe
RYA Yacht Master | Sea Earth Sail
Growing up in a small town in west Michigan, Phoebe spent her summers on the lakes, sailing and racing dinghies, then teaching sailing at the local yacht club. Though far from any ocean, she developed a deep interest in it early on, likely passed down from her parents, world cruisers themselves. Their stories of circumnavigating took shape into a dream of her own—to sail around the world.
Phoebe moved southwards, from freshwater to saltwater, to attend college at University of North Carolina Wilmington. While obtaining degrees in Marine Biology and French, she found a job crewing sunset sails and teaching sailing in Wrightsville Beach. After one summer there, she realized sailing could actually be a career! Obtaining her USCG captain’s license, she quickly worked her way up from crew to captain to manager. Upon graduation, the company decided to keep her employed by sending her down to the Caribbean on a 44’ catamaran to run liveaboard charters through the winter months.
Excited by this opportunity, Phoebe learned to navigate new waters, fix things, plan passages, and build a business on her own. She formed incredible friendships with her customers, welcoming them aboard as family and curating every trip to fit their unique interests. Phoebe enjoys sharing her knowledge of marine life with her guests, having worked in coral husbandry at UNCW and volunteered in fisheries research in Madagascar. Snorkeling or diving with Phoebe can turn into a fun marine biology lesson!
Phoebe loves nothing more than to be active and outdoors. You might find her up at sunrise, flowing through some yoga and journaling before the rest of the boat wakes up. On land, she enjoys biking, hiking, traveling, and cooking. Though she appreciates her adventures ashore, Phoebe is always drawn back to life afloat. She has captained four ocean passages, and crewed aboard others, racking up roughly 8,000 offshore miles.
Perrine
RYA Yacht Master | World Explorer
Born and raised in France, Perrine’s love for the ocean began early, spending summers hobie cat sailing with her cousins along the coast of Brittany. Moving to the United States at age eleven opened up a whole new world and sparked a deep curiosity for adventure, travel, and discovering different ways of life. While she loved exploring new places, she always dreamt of finding a slower, more intentional way to experience the world... and when she first discovered the idea of living aboard a sailboat, something immediately clicked.
At the time, Perrine was studying in Scotland, where the weather wasn’t exactly ideal for building sea time. It wasn’t until an academic exchange in Australia that she finally went on her first cruising trip and realized sailing was more than just a dream, it was the beginning of a lifelong passion.
After graduating with a degree in neuroscience, Perrine decided to take a leap and dedicate herself fully to life on the water. She built experience crewing aboard a variety of 40–60ft boats, helping refit a catamaran in New Zealand, and completing her first ocean crossing from Portugal to the Caribbean. What began as a “gap year” quickly turned into a calling, and she hasn’t looked back since.
Since then, Perrine has worked across many corners of the sailing world, from running sunset charters in New York Harbor, to captaining a private 50ft catamaran in the Virgin Islands, delivering race boats along the East Coast, and sailing superyachts across the Atlantic. She thrives on pushing beyond her comfort zone, continuously learning and expanding her skillsets both on and off the water.
Beyond sailing, Perrine is passionate about health, wellness, and understanding the human mind. She can happily spend hours talking about neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy, and is always picking up new hobbies, whether it’s rock climbing, watercolor painting, music, yoga, scuba diving, or whatever challenge she can think of next. At her core, she’s happiest outdoors, staying active, and exchanging knowledge and experiences with good people.
