Exumas Adventure (5 Days)

Coastal Cruising Experience - 100NM /5 Days

Details:

Explore the natural beauty of the Bahamas on this five-day hands-on sailing journey through the Exumas. We’ll balance land and sea adventures, sailing over beautiful blue-hued waters, snorkeling vibrant reefs, dinghying through mangrove creeks, and hiking short trails ashore. Learn coastal route planning and navigation as we sail between the small cays, practice anchoring/mooring, and improve your sailing skills all around.

  • We choose our itinerary based on the weather, but expect daily sailing activities and excursions from one picturesque anchorage to another. Your five-day journey highlights include:

    • Shroud Cay: Dinghy through lush mangrove creeks to the oceanside for a hike and beach walk.

    • Warderick Wells: Our favorite spot for hiking—stunning views, tide pools and stromatolites (look it up!). Snorkel among healthy coral, eagle rays and reef sharks.

    • Compass Cay: Hike the island’s trails, explore hidden beaches, and snorkel the ‘Sea Aquarium.’

    • Staniel Cay: Snorkel the iconic Thunderball Grotto and pay a visit to the famous swimming pigs.

    • Allan’s Cay: A secluded spot, known for its only inhabitants—endangered rock iguanas!

    • Sailing over the shallow Exuma Bank is a breathtaking experience in itself!

  • March is a beautiful time to explore the Exumas, with warm, comfortable weather and generally settled seas. Expect warm daytime highs around 80°F and cooler nighttime temperatures of 70-72°F.

Prevailing easterly winds around 10–15 knots make for ideal sailing conditions.

Sea temperatures in March average 77°F, great for snorkeling, diving, and swimming. Skies are mostly sunny with moderate humidity and only brief, passing showers.

    • Fly in/out: Exuma International Airport (GGT)

    • Dinghy Pickup/Drop-off at the George Town Dinghy dock behind the Exuma Market

  • Our prices are all-inclusive once aboard, covering meals, snacks, refreshments, evening sundowners, and mooring or docking fees. Not included: Transportation to/from the program and meals/drinks ashore.
